Up-tempo offensive pace surprising Penn State players

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State wideout DaeSean Hamilton expected an up-tempo offense from his new coordinator.

He just never expected it to be quite this extreme.

"I knew it was fast, but I didn't know it was as fast as we're practicing at," Hamilton said Wednesday night. "Getting adjusted to the speed is what surprised me the most."

Last year, during team periods, the offense would run about 14 plays over a span of 10 minutes.
