1. The Defensive Line’s Pass Rush
Although the defensive line has been wreaking havoc in the run game since the beginning of the season, it hadn’t really left its mark when it comes to getting after the quarterback — that is, until Saturday against Purdue. Shaka Toney finished with three sacks, Yetur Gross-Matos had two sacks, Fred Hansard and Jayson Oweh chipped in with one a piece, and Antonio Shelton and Robert Windsor each had a half-a-sack.
It was a much needed outing from a group that has looked fantastic in just about every facet, but just couldn’t get home to the quarterback in previous games.
