Two former Penn State men's lacrosse players selected in Major League Lacrosse draft

Two former Penn State players will take their talents to the pros.

In the Major League Lacrosse Draft, attackman Nick Aponte was selected 30th overall by the Chesapeake Bayhawks, and midfielder Matt Florence was selected 72nd overall by the Denver Outlaws.

Aponte served as the Nittany Lions' captain in the 2017 season and was part of a dominant attacking unit that also included Grant Ament and Mac O'Keefe.

In 2016, he became Penn State's first all-Big Ten selection and was a Tewaaraton nominee in both his junior and senior seasons.

During Aponte's final year, he finished third on the team in goals with 24 and second in points with 57.
