When Ludvig Larsson transferred from Merrimack to Penn State this summer, the college hockey community came to what seemed like a reasonable conclusion.
The Nittany Lions brought in Larsson, who won face-offs at the 14th best clip in the nation a year ago, to fix their woes in the faceoff circle, right?
Turns out, the 23-year-old Swede can do just about everything else too.
“I thought he looked extremely mature in all areas,” coach Guy Gadowsky said after his team’s 4-3 victory over Clarkson Thursday at Pegula Ice Arena.
One minute, he could be found backchecking in his defensive zone.
