In a conference season full of nail-biting matches and difficult opponents, No. 1 Penn State didn’t find much resistance from Rutgers on senior night at Rec Hall.
The Nittany Lions hit .567 for the match and used three game-breaking runs to their advantage as the top-ranked home side rolled over the Scarlet Knights in straight sets on Saturday (25-9, 25-9, 25-12).
With the win, Penn State improved to 23-1 on the season and 13-1 in Big Ten play. The victory was also the 13th straight for the Nittany Lions.
On a night in which they were honored before the match started, it was only fitting that Penn State’s seniors lead the charge once again.
