Sunday's come-from-behind win over Ole Miss was not only an important senior-day victory for Missouri softball and the five student-athletes honored, it was also the anniversary of the team's protest of Missouri athletics' investigation of head coach Ehren Earleywine under former athletics director Mack Rhoades.
The aftermath of Rhoades' investigation — which did not conclude until after Missouri's season had ended and Rhoades landed in Waco, Texas, as Baylor's Athletic Director — left some confusion surrounding the program. The coach was tasked with replacing three of the program's best hitters and baserunners — Sami Fagan, Taylor Gadbois and Emily Crane.
