The Nittany Lions knew the key to the game. Force Boise State to throw the ball, and take your chances with Maddux Madsen’s arm instead of letting Ashton Jeanty burn them. The gamble paid off, leading to Penn State living in the Boise State backfield, either forcing Madsen to make errant decisions, or stopping Jeanty for short yardage.
