This Season Is Toast: UCLA 78, Penn State 54

There was no reprieve for what has become a disaster season on Saturday afternoon, as Penn State lost to UCLA 78-54. The Nittany Lions have now lost nine of their last 10 games, and are now one Washington win away from being tied for last in the Big Ten with a 3-10 conference record.

Penn State actually got off to a solid start in Pauley Pavilion, at one point holding a 16-14 lead after a Zach Hicks made three-pointer. That lead — and any level of competitiveness — wouldn’t last much longer though. From that point, the Bruins took control of the game, going on a 30-15 run to end the first half, and erasing much doubt that the Nittany Lions would pull a west coast upset.
