Penn State tight end Theo Johnson announced on Friday that he will forego his eligibility and declare for the NFL draft. Johnson was a major part of the Penn State offense this season, catching 32 passes for 325 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Johnson becomes the second player to declare for the NFL draft since the regular season ended. Unlike Chop Robinson, however, Johnson decided he will play in the Peach Bowl, giving the Nittany Lions another weapon on offense, in hopes to win 11 games in five of James Franklin’s 10 seasons as head coach.
