First, Barkley was superb. He didn’t touch the ball on PSU’s first offensive series but that was more the design of the Lions’ offensive approach than a specific play-call or two. Barkley ran for 172 yards and two scores on only 14 carries and he had a long gain of 80 yards. The tailback was also exceptional as a receiver. McSorley also had a strong game, throwing for 280 yards and two scores and adding a rushing touchdown and 48 yards on the ground. Just one minor deduction here — I think Trace would like to have that end-zone interception back.
