Following a 7-1 start to its season, Penn State will kick off conference play against an opponent it hasn’t beaten in nearly five years.
No. 8 Purdue will bring its eight-game winning streak against the Nittany Lions into Happy Valley at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The game will mark the Boilermakers’ first trip to State College since a 74-67 win on Jan. 8, 2022.
Purdue has long been a thorn in Penn State’s side, as its 47 all-time wins over the blue and white are the second-most for any program.
Ahead of coach Mike Rhoades’ second go-around against the Boilermakers, he acknowledged the standard they had set in recent seasons.
