No matter how the offense has performed since the year 2000, the Nittany Lions’ defensive effort has kept Penn State in the majority of games. When it comes to the three areas of the field, however, it can be tough to pin down which position group has been the best since Tom Bradley took over in 2000.
The Metrics:
Since there is certainly a debatable topic, we will be using several objective criterion, and one subjective criterion in order to determine the best defensive position since 2000.
We will use the following objective criteria: Walter Camp All-Americans (there are far too many other All-American teams by various people and publications, so it’s easier to limit it to one of the “official” versions), National or Conference Award Winners, and NFL Draft Selections.
