The guest speaker for Thursday's final 2017 installment of the Orangeburg Touchdown Club meeting at The Cinema was Clemson assistant athletic director Brad Scott.
The former head football coach at South Carolina and later associate head coach at Clemson is in his second decade with the Tigers athletic department.
But, as S.C. State head football coach Buddy Pough mentioned in introducing him, these days Scott is recognized as Clemson co-offensive coordinator "Jeff Scott's dad," instead of the guy who had a 32-year coaching career that spanned stops at The Citadel and Florida State.
"He is the best recruiting guy I have ever been in a house with," Pough said of Scott, from their days recruiting players to Columbia to play for the Gamecocks in the mid-1990s.
