After a month off to regroup from the 55-16 drubbing at the hands of Michigan State, the Penn State Nittany Lions are preparing this week to face the Georgia Bulldogs in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville on January 2. Both teams are in the middle of some coaching changes that could have an effect on the game.
Penn State head coach James Franklin fired offensive coordinator John Donovan after the Nittany Lions finished the regular season as one of the worst offenses for a second year in-a-row. Former Fordham coach Joe Moorhead was hired and will be around for the bowl game, but it’s quarterbacks coach Ricky Rahne who’s been playing the role of offensive coordinator for the bowl game.
