On the coaches’ caravan recently, head football coach James Franklin made the assertion that Penn State is 13th out of 14 Big Ten schools when it comes to spending over the last 8 years. Franklin considered spending on facilities and salaries, among other things. He noted coaches leaving for lateral moves, which he believes shouldn’t happen at a top 10 program. In related news, Penn State is valued as the 13th richest college football program. Only Ohio State and Michigan from the Big Ten ranked ahead of the Nittany Lions
