Success on special teams propels Penn State men's hockey to series sweep of Robert Morris

For Penn State to assert itself as a Big Ten Championship contender again, special teams success is critical. In Saturday’s game, the special teams units were dominant, leading the Nittany Lions to a 7-4 win over Robert Morris.

The power play had been struggling for a couple of weeks, but it was dominant, going 3-for-6 on the night.

The success is even more impressive because of the injuries the Nittany Lions are dealing with, especially on the back-end.

“Not one of those units are intact like the way that they were at the beginning of the season,” coach Guy Gadowsky said.
