Strong setter play leads Penn State women’s volleyball to two straight set victories

Penn State cruised to a straight set victory over Northwestern on Saturday night in Rec Hall and a big help in the win was the play of its setters.

Coach Russ Rose felt that his squad was strong offensively, which ultimately helped lead them to victory.

“Other than the three missed serves in the last game, I thought we played well,” Rose said. “I thought we passed well, we had good cross court defense by Kendall [White] and I thought we had a good night offensively.”

A big reason for the offensive success of Penn State in its second weekend of Big Ten play was the play of their setters, who served as catalysts for the offense.
