The women’s ice hockey team defeated the Guelph Gryphins, 4-1, in an exhibition game on Saturday.
The Nittany Lions remained ahead the entire game, allowing only one goal in the third period.
Kelly Seward, Meike Meilleur, Amy Petersen and Laura Bowman scored for Penn State and Kelly Gibbons for Guelph. Petersen and Seward both recorded two assists and Bowman, Victoria Samuels and Bella Sutton recorded one each.
“Our chemistry is forming really well this early in the season,” said Petersen.
Eight freshmen were added to the team, but Petersen said that despite the large influx, the new members are fitting into the team well.
