After launching just two shots on goal in the first half to Minnesota’s eight, it’s easy to see how Penn State could have given in to frustration.

Both camps brought a tough, physical defense — resulting in 17 total fouls on the field — and an unrelenting offense that proved the score has yet to be settled for these two evenly matched teams.

The complete scoring summary came down to two crucial minutes for the conference rivals. Megan Schafer connected on an assist from Marissa Sheva and sailed the ball past the Minnesota defense in the 58th minute to open scoring for Big Ten play.
