Thanks to his consistent play and good luck with health, Craig Robertson triggered an incentive in his contract that will pay him a $1.1 million bonus, according to a source.
The Saints linebacker has a clause in his contract that pays him escalating amounts of money for the percentage of snaps he plays each season he is with the team. Robertson, who logged 74.7 percent of the defensive plays this season, could have earned $1.5 million by playing 80 percent of the snaps.
Robertson hooked on with the Saints last season, and the initial vision for him was to serve as depth at linebacker and on special teams.
