Rated a four-star recruit by Rivals and a three-star by ESPN and 247, Sal Wormley came into Happy Valley as the top player in Delaware and a three-year letterman from Smyrna High School. After redshirting in 2019, only playing on special teams in 2020, and missing the 2021 season due to injury, Wormley began a streak of starts at right guard in 2022, lasting for 42 consecutive games until the conclusion of the 2024 season. He was named All-Big Ten honorable mention in both 2022 and 2023, helping to pave the way for Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen to approach the all-time rushing record at Penn State.
