The Nittany Lions’ ending to a blockbuster night couldn’t have been written better if they tried.
No. 15 Penn State downed No. 2 Minnesota 4-3 in overtime behind the efforts of senior captain Simon Mack on Friday night.
“Very appropriate that (Mack) got that goal,” coach Guy Gadowsky said. “Not only because of how he was buzzing in overtime, but because of how he played all game.”
There aren’t many things more poetic than a senior captain scoring the overtime winner in one of his last games in front of the home crowd, but when you look deeper into the game-winning goal on Friday night, the story only gets better.
