Saquon Barkley has top talent. Will that translate into the top pick?

Penn State hasn’t had a player go first overall in the NFL draft since 2000, when Cleveland claimed defensive lineman Courtney Brown.

That streak might be about to end.

And, if so, the Browns would be the team to end it.

Cleveland again has the top pick in the draft, Round 1 of which will be held Thursday in Arlington, Texas, and Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley is regarded by many analysts as the top talent available.

Whether that translates to him being the first player selected is far from certain, however, since the prevailing sentiment seems to be that if Cleveland retains that choice, it will be invested in a quarterback.
