For the first time in 71 games , Penn State’s lineup card did not feature the name Curtis Loik.

The senior forward last missed a contest on Valentine’s Day of 2014 , a shootout loss to Michigan State , but was held out of the second game of the Nittany Lions’ weekend series against Ohio State with an undisclosed injury.

With a spot open on the team’s second line, coach Guy Gadowsky looked to Zach Saar to slot in alongside Chase Berger and Kenny Brooks .

While the trio failed to register a point in the 5-1 loss to the Buckeyes , Gadowsky was pleased with the new-formed line’s play.
