Despite its loss to Ohio State last weekend, Penn State still found itself in a very good position on Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff ranking release when the Nittany Lions were ranked No. 6 overall. For the most part, Penn State now controls its own destiny if it wants to host a playoff game in December.
I say “for the most part” because it’s not completely set in stone yet. Even if Penn State wins out and goes 11-1, what happens in other conferences will impact where the Nittany Lions end up ranked. So let’s take a look at each power conference and identify the role they could play in Penn State’s future.
