Ron Cook: Penn State's, Saquon Barkley's performance vs. Michigan puts college football world on notice

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — When Jack Ham talks Penn State football, I listen.

“Saquon Barkley is the best running back I’ve seen here,” he was saying the other day.

Who am I to argue with the great Jack Ham?

Barkley accomplished plenty against Michigan in front of a Beaver Stadium record crowd of 110,823 on a “white-out” Saturday night that made for the best scene in college football and had to give chills to the dozens of recruits in attendance. He led a Penn State offense that shredded the best defense in America. He gave James Franklin his first win in four tries against Michigan and Penn State its 16th win in 17 games since it lost at Michigan a year ago by 39 points.
