UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s flurry of offseason movement continues with the third transfer of Tuesday, this one coming from reserve linebacker Gary Wooten Jr. who will leave the program as a graduate transfer, a source confirmed to the Post-Gazette.
Wooten, who appeared in seven games this season and tallied seven tackles, joins starting linebacker Troy Reeder and reserve cornerback Daquan Worley who are also slated to leave the program. Since the conclusion of the TaxSlayer Bowl, Penn State lost underclassmen Christian Hackenberg and Austin Johnson to the NFL Draft, tight end Adam Breneman who ended his collegiate career due to a chronic knee injury, receiver Geno Lewis who transferred to Oklahoma, plus Reeder, Worley and Wooten.
