UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Offensive line coach Herb Hand is headed toward a deal at Auburn when he will join Gus Malzahn’s staff, USA Today’s Dan Wolken and Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman report.
Hand, who coached the offensive line at Vanderbilt and Penn State under head coach James Franklin, would be the third coach from Franklin’s staff to head elsewhere this offseason. Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop left Saturday to take on the same role at Tennessee, offensive coordinator John Donovan was fired at the conclusion of the regular season and Hand, who would coach the Tigers’ offensive linemen, could be reuniting with Malzahn, whom he coached with at Tulsa in 2007-08.
