On December 6th, 2024, the final horn sounded at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, signaling yet another Penn State conference loss — its eighth straight to be exact.
The then 6-9 Nittany Lions were sitting dead last in conference play without a point in the win column, and although the season hadn’t yet reached the halfway point, their postseason hopes were starting to dwindle.
Fast forward exactly three months and the current blue and white team has been regarded as the “hottest team in college hockey”, managed to climb both the conference and national rankings, and is now sitting on the cusp of an NCAA Tournament appearance.
