Pat Chambers always knew the talent Rasir Bolton had. It isn’t something he discovered in the first 10 games of the season.
The plan to have Bolton come off the bench to start the season was easy to explain. After Tony Carr left, it made sense to insert Jamari Wheeler, who showed poise as a freshman last season. Chambers wanted to let his new talented scorer observe what the other team was doing from the bench.
But as Bolton began to show off his abilities, it became clear that Penn State was better off with him –– not Wheeler –– in the starting lineup.
