Penn State hockey fell at No. 8 Quinnipiac 3-2 on Saturday night for its first defeat of the season.
The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead with goals just over two minutes apart on goals from Jeremy Wilmer and Andon Cerbone. Quinnipiac would extend the lead to 3-0 just 1:06 into the second period, with Wilmer scoring his second goal of the game.
The Nittany Lions faced a 3-0 deficit entering the third period but did not go quietly into the night. Ben Schoen scored on the power play at 0:59 of the third to put the Lions on the board.
