BYU losing to Kansas on Saturday could present a far bigger shakeup in the College Football Playoff race than one loss might typically indicate.
If the CFP selection committee drops BYU out of its top 12 -- and puts Boise State in -- the Broncos could earn a first-round bye as one of the four highest-ranked conference champions instead of the Big 12.
And if that were to happen, in this week's scenario, No. 11 Tennessee would be knocked out of the field to make room for the fifth-highest ranked conference champion, one-loss BYU.
And you thought the controversy ended with the four-team playoff.
