Arrington played linebacker and running back for North Hills. As a senior, he was named the 1996 Parade National Player of the Year and the Gatorade Player of the Year. He was the second player in Pennsylvania 4A history to rush for more than 4,000 yards in his career. Arrington was also recruited to player Division I basketball and was a star sprinter.
