LATROBE, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers made Malik Golden their first signing of training camp, adding the former Penn State safety on the opening day of practice Friday, according to a tweet from Golden's agent.
Golden spent four seasons with the Nittany Lions before going undrafted this year.
The San Francisco 49ers signed Golden on May 4, ahead of rookie minicamp, and released him on June 9, between organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp.
Golden's only season as a regular starter for Penn State came in his senior year. He made 48 solo tackles and 27 assisted, one interception, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery last season.
