LATROBE -- Former Middletown and Penn State running back Brandon Johnson's second stint in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform barely lasted longer than his first.
Johnson, a rookie minicamp tryout player who wasn't signed out of the camp, joined the Steelers on June 24 when Shaun Suisham retired. Four practice days into training camp, Pittsburgh announced he was waived injured.
The former Nittany Lions walk-on had pulled up an online application for his local FedEx office the night before the team called to sign him. He had unsuccessfully tried out for the Chicago Bears, too.
