It’s been a year of big changes for Pitt’s athletic department.
A number of coaches have come and gone, with many of athletic director Heather Lyke’s new hires getting high marks. And plans have been put in place to vastly improve the facilities for a number of varsity teams.
Still, the Panthers have fared poorly in a pair of athletic department rankings released over the past couple of weeks, a sign of how much work remains to be done following a rough showing last year.
A CBS ranking released Wednesday placed Pitt 95th nationally, ahead of just fellow ACC member Georgia Tech among power-conference programs.
