Seven former Pitt football players have been invited to attend the NFL scouting combine later this month in Indianapolis ahead of the April 26 draft.
All three early entries, Quadree Henderson (wide receiver), Brian O’Neill (offensive line) and Jordan Whitehead (defensive back), made the cut, as did graduates Jaryd Jones-Smith (offensive line), Avonte Maddox (defensive back), Jester Weah (wide receiver) and Ryan Winslow (punter). That’s one more participant that Pitt had last year, when six players went to the combine, five of whom were drafted.
Maddox, Weah and Winslow learned of their status more than a month ago, while Jones-Smith found out last week.
