Peyton Jones’ bounce-back third period makes big difference for Penn State men’s hockey

Throughout the first half of Friday’s game against Michigan State, Peyton Jones looked unbeatable.

He made save after save, and with Penn State up 3-0, the game looked all but over.

But with the score at 3-1, one play seemed to change everything.

A weak shot by the Spartans’ Taro Hirose deflected off Jones’ stick into the net. Just like that, it was 3-2, and Michigan State had all the momentum.

“You get one by and you feel a little better,” Michigan State coach Danton Cole said.
