It wasn’t Penn State goaltender Peyton Jones’ finest night in net, as the sophomore allowed four goals on 37 shots from Robert Morris, but a win supplanted Jones in the Nittany Lions’ record books forever.
With his 33rd career victory, Jones passed Matthew Skoff as Penn State’s all-time leader in goaltender wins.
“It means a ton but I couldn’t do it without my teammates,” Jones said. “Every night they battle for me, back-check, block shots and put their bodies on the line for me.”
Jones had 23 wins in his freshman campaign, followed by 10 wins in 17 starts this season.
