Well, Penn State fans, Week 1 is in the books.
The Nittany Lions played what is unquestionably their best first game of a season in years on Saturday, as they pummeled Akron throughout an affair that was never close at Beaver Stadium, winning 52-0 while racking up a 569-159 yardage advantage.
The outcome was never in doubt, though the DeAndre Thompkins punt return touchdown, a diving interception from corner Amani Oruwariye, and key stats and scores from a number of high-profile Lions were all nice details with Pittsburgh on deck next Saturday.
You'll read all about those here and elsewhere, but the Sunday situation aims to dive into the less-discussed topics, at least for the time being.
