Tommy Stevens is tall. He’s 6 feet 5, to be precise.
Tommy Stevens is a quarterback. And a pretty fair one, at that.
But he didn’t always have that kind of size, and he didn’t always play his current position of choice.
“I wasn’t as tall, growing up, I guess, and that’s why I played running back,” said Stevens, Penn State’s No. 2 quarterback. “Eventually, I grew out of that, and so I had to move into something else.”
But he didn’t immediately embrace the spot he plays now.
Not willingly, at least.
“I hated playing quarterback at first,” he said.
