When he arrived on campus in June, Penn State freshman running back Saquon Barkley’ didn’t waste time turning heads on the practice field.
As the season progressed and Barkley’s hurdles, spin moves and jukes became common place, the Nittany Lions’ standout finished the regular season with 1,007 rushing yards, surpassing Penn State’s freshman rushing record previously set by D.J. Dozier 32 years ago. Barkley added more hardware to his growing trophy case Tuesday when he was made a unanimous second-team selection by the Big Ten’s coaches and media.
