The Nittany Lions and the No. 9 Buckeyes found themselves deadlocked, 1-1, with under four minutes remaining in the third period on Saturday night. That’s when freshman center Nicholas DeGraves shot the puck into the back of the net for the first time in his collegiate career.

Linemate and fellow freshman JJ Wiebusch drove forward on the left side, shooting the puck low for a rebound. Fortunately for DeGraves, the puck bounced off the pad of goaltender Logan Terness right onto his stick. DeGraves quickly tapped it over the glove of Terness into the goal.

Penn State later defeated Ohio State 3-2 in overtime.
