For the first time this season, 6-foot-6 center Gracie Merkle didn’t start for Penn State, paving the way for a much quicker pace of play.
“We have a team that can play multiple positions,” Kieger said. “That three and four spot, we have a lot of different people that can circulate through.”
The Lady Lions started with guard Moriah Murray, Gabby Elliott and Alli Campbell, as well as forwards Tamera Johnson and Grace Hall.
Johnson has shown signs of guard-like potential this season with her strong ball-handling and 3-point shooting, and Hall’s smaller frame allows room for more athleticism on the court compared to Merkle.
