Three former Penn State players – wide receiver Bobby Engram and offensive linemen Steve Wisniewski and Jeff Hartings – are among the nominees for induction in the College Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2019.
Candidates include 76 players and six coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision, as well as 100 players and 32 coaches from the divisional ranks.
Inductees, who must have received first-team All-American honors from an organization recognized by the NCAA and used when compiled its consensus All-American teams to be considered, will be announced Jan. 7.
Engram, Wisniewski and Hartings are among 25 players nominated from Big Ten schools, the most of any conference.
