Penn State coach Cael Sanderson held true to his word that star 157-pounder Jason Nolf would wrestle during the Big Ten tournament, even after there were doubts about if he would, or what would constitute "wrestling."
Nolf did indeed wrestle, and dominated in the process, going 2-0 with a pin and a major decision to advance to the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament at 157 pounds and qualify for the NCAA tournament for the third time in as many seasons.
But it appears that Nolf's quest for a second straight Big Ten title will come to an end on Saturday night, as Penn State Sports Network reporter Jeff Byers reported that Nolf will medically forfeit the remainder of the tournament, punching his opponent, Alec Pantaleo of Michigan, an automatic ticket the 157 pound final.
