Penn State's Bo Nickal was named Big Ten's wrestler of the week, Tuesday, for the week ending on Nov. 22.
Nickal, who's a redshirt freshman, went 2-0 this weekend, defeating CSU-Bakersfield's No. 17 Bryce Hammond and Standford's Keaton Subjeck.
The freshman pinned Hammond at 1:57 in the first period last Friday and on Sunday he earned a 12-4 major decision over Subjeck.
Nickal is ranked seventh at 174 pounds this year, according to InterMat. The Allen, Texas native is 4-0 this season with two wins over ranked opponents.
This is the first time in Nickal's career that he's been named the Big Ten wrestler of the week and the first Nittany Lion honored so far this year.
