Bo Nickal was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week after his performance at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Jan. 1 and 2.
The redshirt freshman went 6-0 over the course of the weekend, winning the 174-pound weight class as a No. 4 seed and leading Penn State to its sixth straight Southern Scuffle title.
His dominant performance included two technical falls and a major victory.
Nickal’s most impressive victory came over previously undefeated No. 1 Brian Realbuto from Cornell. The Nittany Lion dominated the bout, winning 12-7 with a 2:04 advantage in riding time.
