After the first day of competition at the Southern Scuffle at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Penn State sent eight wrestlers on to the semi finals and the second day of competition — Nick Lee, Zain Retherford, Jason Nolf, Vincenzo Joseph, Mark Hall, Bo Nickal, Anthony Cassar and Shakur Rasheed.
It's the Nittany Lions first time competing at the Scuffle in two years. Prior to that, they won the tournament six straight times, though Hall took home the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler last year as an unattached wrestler. Here are some more story lines from the first day of competition:
