Aaron Brooks took on Uzbekistan's Javrail Shapiev in the bronze medal match of the 86 kilogram bracket on Friday. Brooks didn’t disappoint.
The former Nittany Lion faced off with the Uzbek and managed to take the first lead.
Through the first three minutes, Brooks grabbed an early point called from Shapiev’s lack of action.
The second period of the bout went similarly, seeing Brooks tied up with Shapiev’s arms constantly to begin the second half.
Brooks gained a second point with about two minutes remaining, before taking his first takedown for another score.
The four-time NCAA champion went right back to using his quickness around the mat, and pushed Shapiev out of bounds on his next takedown attempt.
